DERA GHAZI KHAN – In the wake of the recent Islamia University Bahawalpur scandal, another unsettling incident has emerged from the academic sphere. A female student at Ghazi University in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, has come forward to accuse two professors of sexual harassment, sending shockwaves through the institution.
The allegations came to light when a video statement, in which the victim recounted her ordeal, gained traction on various social media platforms. The student has accused Dr. Zafar Wazir, one of the professors, of rape following the alleged administration of an intoxicating substance.

Promptly responding to the gravity of the situation, authorities have initiated legal proceedings. A case has been registered under section 376 at Gadai police station in Dera Ghazi Khan, targeting the two professors and an additional teacher implicated in the matter.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the victim was reportedly enticed by her colleague and subsequently subjected to sexual assault by Dr. Zafar Wazeer. Furthermore, the FIR highlighted that Professor Khalid Khattak had allegedly resorted to intimidation tactics to engage in ‘illicit relations’ with the victim.
Law enforcement, upon formal registration of the case, has swung into action to apprehend the accused professors and the student involved. The situation has sparked a fervent search operation aimed at bringing the culprits to justice.
In response to the developing situation, the university’s spokesperson has acknowledged the incident as an older issue. The institution has taken decisive measures in response to the accusations, including the suspension of both accused teachers. Additionally, a departmental inquiry is presently underway to address the matter comprehensively.
