The Chehlum, observed 40 days after Ashura, serves as a solemn tribute to the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions during the historic Battle of Karbala in 61 AH.
The decision to close all private and government educational institutions on this day has been confirmed by the Sindh Education Department, following a resolution passed by its steering committee.
Across the country, one can anticipate mourning processions in numerous cities and towns as citizens gather to pay their heartfelt respects to the martyrs of Karbala.
