Punjab University will remain closed from 20 April to 25 April in observance of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, according to an announcement made by the university administration. The break will provide students and faculty members with the opportunity to celebrate the festivities with their loved ones.
The university has also stated that Saturday, 6 May, will be a working day in lieu of the additional holiday on Thursday, 20 April. Students and faculty members will be required to attend classes and carry out their work as usual on that day. The decision has been made to ensure that academic progress is not affected by the extended holiday period.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will host the official meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee tonight in Islamabad. The purpose of the meeting is to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal 1444 AH, which will determine the date for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 across the country.
Punjab University’s administration urges students and faculty members to use this break to recharge themselves and spend quality time with their loved ones. The university will resume academic activities from Wednesday, 26 April.
Outro: The announcement of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays is expected to bring relief and joy to the students and faculty members of Punjab University, who have been working tirelessly amid the ongoing pandemic.
